Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2017 Verified Purchase Full disclaimer up front... I am a big Sandra Bullock fan because everything I have seen her in has been good! This one slipped past me and I recently watched it. I thought it was going to be one of those movies that I could play in the background while I got some crafting done. Those movies where you can mostly listen to it and still keep up but this wasn't one of those. I had to stop what I was doing so I could watch every little bit. Especially with the one mailbox scene back and forth. I'll say no more because I don't to spoil it. If you want a little romance with a bit of comedy, a sad scene or two, and a good ending, this may be the movie for you. It's thought provoking and magical. Most movies like this are fun to watch but don't really stay with you. This one is a bit haunting and thought provoking in a good way.

Here are a couple of final, stray thoughts: Seriously, what the hell was up with future girl? Leave it to creator/finale co-writer Terence Winter, that former Sopranos scribe, to throw a surreal, head-scratching curveball in the final ep. (It certainly seemed like a dream sequence the way director Tim Van Patten sized up Buscemi and the girl in those panoramic, medium close-up shots. ) Seitz and I went back and forth on this, with Seitz pondering if the girl was just young Gillian all dolled up. I said it couldn't be — the girl looks older than young Gillian. At the moment, I'm thinking she's just someone there to introduce Nucky to the future of television, since he goes in that tent and sees the girl sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on a visual contraption. Perhaps this is Winter's meta way of telling audiences how television continues to show us the future of entertainment just as it did nearly a century ago. But don't quote me on this — I'm just throwing stuff out there. I've been wrong on here before!

More of a one-man massacre than ever before (but just raggedy enough to keep things "real"), Mr. Wick fights in a punishingly brutal style that builds on what director Chad Stahelski invented for the character in the previous films. This is a character who appears to know every single language under the sun, but violence is the most expressive part of his vocabulary (Reeves speaks maybe 100 words in the entire movie). Chinese wushu, Japanese judo, Southeast Asian silat, American Glock… Wick is fluent in them all. But while Stahelski and his team have obviously put a great deal of thought into every frame of fisticuffs, "Parabellum" is so relentless that it often devolves into a numbing flurry of shoulder flips and headshots. If "Chapter 2" bordered on high art for how cleverly it weaved tactical shootouts into public locations (and made every fight operate like an organic bit of world-building), "Chapter 3" is more out in the open. A sneaky little skirmish in Grand Central Station doesn't live up to Stahelski's creative potential, even if it's amazing they pulled off the scene at all.

Que la urgencia cuasi documental que esgrimen estas narraciones se vea como una innovadora parábola verité del aquí y ahora (aquí y ahora terrorífico) me provoca una amplia sonrisa: todo es tan verdad y novedoso como en los diarios personales de los protagonistas de relatos de Poe o Lovecraft, o como en los informes que Bram Stoker intercalaba en sus ficciones.
