Victor inizia criticando il fatto che il film in questione altro non è che un remake di un film spagnolo, a suo dire "detestabile e orripilante", meravigliandosi di come, con tutti i film spagnoli interessanti usciti nell'ultimo periodo, gli italiani siano riusciti a riprendere proprio quello più brutto. La recensione va avanti analizzando a grandi linee tutta la trama del film, con Victor che critica pesantemente soprattutto il tipo di comicità utilizzata nel film, che lui considera trita, ripetitiva e infantile, anche per via della presenza di personaggi provenienti dalla trasmissione comica Colorado, condotta all'epoca dallo stesso Paolo Ruffini. Oltre alle battute, Victor critica l'assurdità e l'eccessiva volgarità di alcune scene, come ad esempio una scena di necrofilia utilizzata come gag comica, oltre che il lato tecnico del film, giudicando la regia inconsistente e la fotografia mal curata. Un altro aspetto che Victor critica nella recensione è lo sfruttamento dell'immagine di Lebowski e anche di Guglielmo Scilla e Frank Matano, considerando la loro presenza all'interno del film come un metodo per attirare i loro fan in sala e giudicando deludenti le loro interpretazioni.
I didn't waste any time renting "Patti Cakes", when I saw it on Amazon, and even more so when I read Danielle is Australian and had to learn to rap, AND deliver it in a New Jersey accent! Quite a challenge for a young actress, who handily carried this film, with the support of an excellent performance by Bridgette Everett, who played her mother, and an absolute, tour de force performance by the wonderful, accomplished veteran, Cathy Moriarty, Patti's grandmother. Just a wonderful, raw, coming of age, feel-good film. ADDENDUM: Danielle Macdonald gave a stand-out performance in a fantastic movie several years ago. She played a young teen, with Diane Lane, Elizabeth Banks, and Dakota Fanning about two teenage girls who had just been released after 8 years in juvenile detention for kidnapping and allowing a baby to die, "Every Secret Thing. " See it! It would give a good perspective seeing Danielle in a starring role in an American film, at even an earlier age. Trama Il dottor Norman Spencer e Claire sono felicemente sposati e abitano in una villa sul lago decisamente troppo isolata. Mentre lui lavora su esperimenti genetici, lei sta a casa e sente strane presenze. Il primo sospetto è che il vicino abbia ammazzato la moglie: lo spia col binocolo e ben presto la pista si rivela falsa. Ciò non toglie che in casa c'è "qualcuno" o qualcosa: porte che non si chiudono bene, quadri che cascano senza che nessuno li tocchi e quello strano fumo che esce dalla vasca da bagno... Note I fantasmi di Alfred Hitchcock e di Bernard Herrmann fanno capo ovunque, durante i 130 minuti del film: Zemeckis cita a man bassa, partendo da "La finestra sul cortile" e arrivando a "Rebecca"; Alan Silvestri dissemina stacchi orchestrali che colpiscono alla cintura. Tutto già visto, ma il film funziona magnificamente: fa una paura maledetta, e ti costringe a sobbalzare lungo tutti i perigliosi tornanti della sceneggiatura. La prima parte è la più insinuante, nel finale si sfocia in un thriller più risaputo.
