Essentially more of a cinematic experience than conventional cinema, it nonetheless has thematic messages conveyed through its juxtaposition of imagery; from showing the ruinous wake of Hurricane Katrina and cutting to the splendors of Versailles to the manufacturing of sex dolls to that of Asian escorts, Samsara has a singular approach that's rather blunt but nonetheless effective. As we journey across the world looking at different… That fucked my shit up. Seriously though, this is something else. Samsara is possibly the most visually stunning film I've ever seen. It explores all cultures around the world, the relationships we have with each other and the environment around us, and the pure insignificance one of us has when compared to the eternal circle of life itself. Despite this description, the film isn't completely depressing. I felt as though I was going through some sort of cleanse while watching it. Samsara was able to expand my mind and tackle thought-provoking themes with relative grace and visual excellence.

Levando em conta o tom leve para crianças, é uma sacada interessante para conglomerar os arcos narrativos propostos. Meu problema com o desenho está mais voltado na preguiçosa criação de universo, que inclui a apresentação das funcionalidades do Comando Estelar e o reino do grande vilão. Tudo soa muito jogado ou conveniente ao momento de trama. Se o Buzz desse filme fosse tão boboca como quanto em Toy Story tudo bem, poderia fazer parte da lógica funcional do personagem, mas como foi estabelecido de que se trata de um outro universo, ele poderia e conseguiria ser melhor apresentado e desenvolvido do que foi. Especialmente porque ele é bem convincente, visualmente falando. Gosto muito do estilo de desenho adotado nessa leva do final dos anos 90 para início dos 2000, um cartunesco mais sujo, com traços mais robustos e uma criação de design que não tinha medo de ser impactante em suas imagens. Lembra muito Scooby-Doo na Ilha dos Zumbis, considerando o grotesco, por exemplo, dos parceiros de Zurg, ou do próprio Zurg.
