His widow, Lindsey Monroe, a planner with the Township of Gilford, has been reluctant to do Christmas ever since as Doug was an integral part of the Monroe family Christmas routine. Lindsey, who has not been able to put Doug behind her, is finally able to put up Christmas decorations this year for the first time since Doug's death. Their now preteen daughter, Hannah Monroe, is excited to have the Christmas spirit in the house again if only in this small way. Hannah is desperately wishing for and expecting a puppy for Christmas, something that Lindsey does not want to oblige for reasons she has not told Hannah. What Lindsey has to deal with at work this Christmas season is Mayor Fred Barnes' supposed pet project, namely to rebuild the long gone gazebo in the town square exactly as it was, it to be completed in time for the historic town lighting to take place on Christmas Eve.

According to a synopsis, secret identities will cause some trouble when a romantic connection occurs. "Lucy (Lenz) plots with her siblings and grandparents during the holidays to help her father's new bed and breakfast get a five-star review from an incognito travel writer (Webster), but ends up falling for him, not knowing he is the real critic, " the synopsis reads. Will the two be able to keep their holiday romance alive even after learning the truth about one another? Thanksgiving Day wouldn't be complete without the premiere of the newest " Countdown to Christmas " movie. "Five Star Christmas, " airing after dinner, stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Victor Webster. Hallmark fans will certainly recognize both leads, who are starring in their first project together for the network but are both longtime vets there. While Lenz is likely most often recognized for her role as Haley James Scott on "One Tree Hill, " she has also starred in "Royal Matchmaker, " "Bottled With Love, " "A Valentine's Match" and "Just My Type. " She also has starred in holiday films as well, taking the lead in films on Lifetime, including "Snowed-Inn Christmas" and "Poinsettias For Christmas. " Meanwhile, Webster is also a Hallmark regular, having previously starred opposite Lenz's "OTH" co-stars Hilarie Burton in "Summer Villa, " and Shantel VanSanten in "Love Blossoms, " as well as the films "A Harvest Wedding, " "Homegrown Christmas" and "Hearts of Winter.
