This film follows a familiar path of alien abduction and the various stages from disbelief to acceptance. There's really nothing new here - it's a by-the-numbers abduction film with all the usual investigation of disturbed people and the initial disbelief and disdain afforded to these people, followed by gradual acceptance. But this film becomes particularly cheesy as Chris (the filmmaker) just happens to come across a pretty youngish woman who is in peril of imminent abduction (surprise! ) And everyone else this young woman deals with is just plain weird or worse. This type of setup spoiled the whole idea for me - what are the odds? The film progresses as you would expect and finishes with no surprises. There are some nice digital special effects in the last 30 minutes which help things along but it's just all too contrived. 2. 5 stars.

En ambos casos está rompiendo las reglas tácitas sobre la utilización de esta táctica. Habitualmente eso sería positivo, pero no sé si en un film tan clásico en cuanto a su argumento, resulta como ella lo pretende o le queda raro. Hay un par de decisiones dentro del guión que no son nada creíbles. Por un lado está el momento en el que el personaje de Berry le ofrece al de Del Toro que viva en su casa. Sabemos que le mueve la culpabilidad, pero no termina de ser verosímil. Sería mucho más efectivo para crear drama que esta convivencia viniese impuesta y fuese algo que ella en un principio no desea. Así, la evolución que se supone que los autores han querido mostrar, daría un mejor resultado, pues pasaría por etapas más diferenciadas. Por otro, el momento en el que ella, por un arrebato de orgullo tonto, lo echa de la casa SPOILER mandándolo directamente a recaer FIN DEL SPOILER no se lo cree nadie. Alguien con dos dedos de frente que se comportase como una adulta, se lo pensaría antes de hacer algo así.
