The trio of serial killers torture women, men and kids in some of the most perverse and shocking ways depicted in cinema. August Underground's Mordum apparently started off as a music video project for the band Necrophagia's vocalist Killjoy (the serial killer whom the trio hang out with towards the end of the movie). At that point, it was Maggot (Michael Todd Schneider) in charge of putting together footage. What he had was later edited and more footage added to become what we now know as August Underground Mordum. A different version called the Maggot cut exists, though its availability is unclear. The movie kicks off with a similar trope to the first part – the camera following someone climbing up the stairs – and your heart sinks a little because Part 1 got your expectations soaring and you wonder if it's just more of the same. As it turns out, the cameraman has just walked in on his girlfriend fucking her brother. A squabble ensues between the two and she finally assuages him by cutting her belly.
Yes. Does that make me any more impressed with it as an intentional piece of work? No, because it needs to have some more thought and composition behind it, at least in visual terms so that it hangs together. If you can't stand another mediocre PG-13 horror, then watch this mediocre extreme film instead for all the right sins. It's just that I've seen *real* snuff done more artfully than this. That, and considering how much that main actress in the chair got paid, these guys could have broken down and afforded a better camera. "So Fucked Up" highlight: rubbing shit on the tied-up girl's partially sliced off nipple Feb 09, 2008 Just as vile and repulsive as you'd expect a film about two sociopathic sexual deviants to be, made even more repugnant due to the fact it's been done psuedo-snuff style shot on hand-held video by one of the sadists featured in the movie who you never actually see. It's actually a very well made film for what it is and definitely achieved a sense of realism. If you fail to tap into the realistic nature then you'll likely be bored and disappointed as there isn't a great deal of gore or endless scenes of violence to hold the attention of those expecting a killathon type film.

This movie would shock all mainstream audiences, but since the people who will end up seeing this have already seen everything done here, done better elsewhere, I really don't understand the rep this series gets in the extreme horror community. SUCKS. Jun 20, 2008 The title and box suggest a subdued Euro horror verite, but this is old fashioned North American handheld homemade horror. For that genre, or just as a realistic spat of serial killing, there are some great scenes but nothing holding this together as a cohesive piece. The biggest problem with this one is focusing on the one killer and not exposing more of the cameraman's nastiness. This is a few steps above what is passed off as serial killer movies today in the mainstream market, and any of those tweens supporting crapstream horror who accidentally watch this won't be able to take it. Course the visuals are astonishingly terrible, leaving one longing for the fine lens of Miike to better film the snuff. Does the movie feel real during some spots?

If you want to watch people using violence instead of genitals to fuck each other, go for it. level 2 I meant it would be nice to know what I would be getting myself into if I decided to watch it tbh but my god, I don't think I can sit through that. If your into the extreme you won't be disappointed, if you aren't, steer clear. When I get August Underground 2 - Mordam, I'll review it. That one is supposed to be the most depraved of the entire trilogy. I'm ready! ToeTag the producers happily sell their series for a bit under 20 dollars per movie. The movies are off the wall and grainy. They are disturbing. Do not expect a lot of plot turns and twists from this movie just killing and gross stuff. I rated it high as it was what I expected it to be. I am one who has gone into a cinematic psychosis and I want to see stuff that really cause me to fear, or to be grossed out or some emotion beyond the normal tripe that is being produced now. If you want dark and disturbing get it and be prepared. Also do not spend big money on this one. The acting is pretty good too but I think a lot of the intensity of the movie is just from the characters shouting at each other. Not actually as brutal as you would expect.
